Leah Brown Prasse, DMS, MSN, RN, CNE

Assistant Clinical Professor, Bouvé School of Nursing

Dr. Leah Brown Prasse is a dedicated nurse educator, clinician, and scholar with over two decades of experience in maternal-newborn nursing and academic instruction. She currently serves as an assistant clinical professor of nursing at Northeastern University, where she teaches undergraduate courses and clinical rotations focused on obstetrics, adult care, and clinical judgment development. Dr. Prasse holds a Doctor of Medical Science with a concentration in public health, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics. Her career began in labor and delivery and continues to teach clinicals in that setting, bringing current clinical expertise to her academic teaching.

Dr. Prasse is an active member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She currently serves on the Merit Committee, Curriculum Committee, Sigma Theta Tau Counselor, and as a course lead for the School of Nursing at Northeastern University. Her Doctorate thesis focuses on improving patient outcomes through innovative educational strategies and public health integration in prelicensure clinical nursing education.

In addition to her teaching, Dr. Prasse is a vocal advocate for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing curriculum and serves as a mentor to students and faculty alike. Known for her engaging lectures, curriculum innovation, and passion for preparing the next generation of nurses, Dr. Prasse continues to shape nursing education through scholarship, service, and practice.
