Academic Partnerships

Academic partnerships are collaborative relationships between Northeastern University’s Charlotte campus and other educational institutions. These partnerships enhance educational opportunities, facilitate knowledge exchange, engage in research opportunities, and expand access to resources for students and faculty at both institutions.

Program Partnerships

Program partnerships connect our campus with organizations throughout the Charlotte region that directly support and enhance our academic programs in Nursing, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech-Language Pathology, and Public Health. These partnerships can provide critical clinical placement, fieldwork opportunities, and real-world learning experiences for our students.

By partnering with healthcare facilities, clinics, schools, and community health organizations, we ensure our students gain experiential learning opportunities while delivering valuable services to the community.

Skilling up future leaders

Novant Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in North Carolina, wanted to build a pipeline of future leaders.

We partnered with them to co-create a training program flexibly delivered through online and in-person formats. The program teaches leadership skills to promising Novant employees who aspire to the next level of responsibility.

PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

Recruiting new nurses

Charlotte-based Atrium Health is the fifth-largest healthcare provider in the U.S. Like many healthcare providers, Atrium needs to meet the demands of nurses who deliver exceptional care.

Since 2017, we’ve worked with Atrium to recruit 50 students per year to clinical placements at Atrium locations throughout the Charlotte region. Students gain real-world experience and earn academic credit, while Atrium gets to work with new talent—and often hires students for full-time positions upon graduation.

PARTNERSHIP SPOTLIGHT

Ensuring safe pharmaceuticals

Agilent, a global company in life sciences and diagnostics, has teamed up with Northeastern’s Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory in Massachusetts, which trains scientists and regulators in best practices for producing safe, effective biopharmaceuticals. Leveraging Agilent’s instrumentation, automated liquid handlers, and cloud-based technologies, a Northeastern BATL team is helping the company refine its products and processes, while it expands its own training techniques and practices.
