Heart of Charlotte Awards
The Heart of Charlotte Awards recognizes individuals and community organizations who are making an impact on the health and wellbeing of the Charlotte community. Honorees are celebrated for their exceptional commitment through a range of activities positively impacting the community: by going above and beyond to support the lives of marginalized individuals through equitable health practices, by investing in educational achievement, through the creation of jobs or through support of local business development, as well as by fostering social, racial, and health equity while consistently working to improve health outcomes.
Career Connection Roundtables
Our Health Sciences Career Connection Roundtables create an opportunity for current students, perspective students, alumni, and healthcare leaders to connect and network, while discussing current hot topics within health sciences professions and disciplines. These small-group, semi-structured conversations are designed to catalyze an exchange of ideas and experience to enhance students’ professional development and build community within the healthcare sector.

Partner Impact Exchange
The Northeastern University Charlotte Partner Impact Exchange brings together a diverse network of partners, ranging from corporate, community, academic, and clinical sectors, alongside advisory board members, faculty, and students to celebrate our shared commitment to innovation, workforce development, and community impact. For more than a decade, we’ve invited influential people to campus to share their insights on topics such as social justice, economic mobility, and barriers to healthcare. Our guests—including government officials, company leaders, and healthcare experts—inspire thoughtful debate and discussion. The program has highlighted important topics that have a local, national, and global impact, including “Paving the Road to Health Equity in the Queen City”, “Innovation Meets Healthcare: Reimagining Modern Health Services”, and “Progressive Companies That Drive Innovation”.
Community Café: Building Connections for a Healthier Charlotte
The Community Café is a quarterly gathering designed to spark conversation, foster collaboration, and explore solutions to some of Charlotte’s most pressing health-related challenges. Open to educators, healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, advocates, business partners, and community members, each Café focuses on a specific healthcare gap or need in Charlotte that aligns with one of Northeastern University–Charlotte’s academic program areas: Nursing, Public Health, Speech-Language Pathology, and Applied Behavior Analysis.
Women Who Empower
Women Who Empower is a signature initiative and global event series from Northeastern University that celebrates, connects, and uplifts women across industries, disciplines, and communities. Through authentic storytelling, powerful conversations, and intentional community-building, each event honors the achievements and journeys of women leaders, while creating space for meaningful dialogue, inspiration, and action. The Charlotte edition of this celebrated series brings together students, alumni, faculty, and local professionals for an unforgettable experience that sparks connection, fuels leadership, and promotes equity.
