About
Dr. Rogers is a full-time faculty member in the Accelerated BSN Program in the School of Nursing, Bouvé College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University- Charlotte. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later obtained her Master’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at the Medical University of South Carolina and is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the primary care setting.
Dr. Rogers has worked in the fields of Pediatrics and Community/Public Health with over 20 years of experience. Prior to becoming a faculty member, she worked within the specialties of Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother/Baby & Women’s Services, School Health, and Public Health nursing. She has a passion for teaching and evaluating comprehensive family-centered care for the pediatric population with a focus on physical, mental, and sociocultural sensitivities in the management of acute and chronic conditions.
To date, Dr. Rogers’ research includes immunization compliance within the pediatric setting with a publication in NASN: School Nurse entitled Immunization Noncompliance: Gauging the Cause, Effect, and Management in the School Setting. She has presented locally on the topic of Physical Assessment in the School Health Setting: Best Practices, Techniques, & Tools for Effective Health Screenings. She is a member of the Northeastern University Scholarship & Awards Committee, Curriculum Committee, and co-chair of the Faculty Recruitment & Search Committee. Dr. Rogers also serves as a co-faculty advisor for the National Student Nurses Association- Charlotte Campus Chapter and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing as well as the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
