Jennifer Deese, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC

Assistant Clinical Professor, Bouvé School of Nursing

Dr. Jennifer Deese is a committed nurse educator, clinician, and advocate for pediatric health with 27 years’ experience in nursing practice and academic instruction. She currently serves as a full-time faculty member, teaching pediatric nursing and nursing management and leadership courses. Dr. Deese holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP), and an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Her clinical background in pediatric care and lactation support enriches her teaching, allowing her to bridge evidence-based practice with real-world application for her students.

Dr. Deese is actively involved in shaping the academic environment beyond the classroom. She serves on the Faculty Staff Council and the Faculty Recruitment Committee, playing a vital role in guiding institutional initiatives and fostering faculty development. In addition, she serves as faculty advisor for the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA), mentoring future nursing leaders and supporting professional growth through student engagement and organizational involvement.

A passionate advocate for student success and leadership development, Dr. Deese is recognized for her dynamic teaching style, mentorship, and dedication to excellence in nursing education. She brings a student-centered approach to her work and continuously integrates innovative strategies into her courses to enhance learning outcomes. Through her academic leadership, service, and continued clinical engagement, Dr. Deese is dedicated to shaping the next generation of nurses and contributing meaningfully to the future of pediatric nursing and nursing leadership.
