Christy Leyland

About

Christy Leyland has been a nurse for over two decades and has served in a variety of roles impacting children’s health in the clinical setting, as an educator, and as a leader.

She graduated from Carolinas College of Health Sciences with an Associate Degree in Nursing, the University of Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Queens University of Charlotte with a Master of Science, and Duke University with a post-graduate degree as a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a PNP certification. She is currently working toward her Doctor of Nursing Practice, with a particular interest in how emotional intelligence affects nursing student success.

Leyland has served as clinical and didactic faculty at Northeastern’s Charlotte campus for four years. She provides clinical expertise in pediatrics, fundamentals, clinical skills, and simulation in addition to expertise in Pathopharmacology. She is honored and humbled to continue impacting the future of nursing through education as a faculty member at Northeastern University and in children’s health as a nurse practitioner.
